Romi Marks CZT

Romi or aka The Tangled Yogi has been practicing Zentangle for 10 years but has had a relationship with creativity her entire life. The Zentangle method is an easy, relaxing and fun way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns. It increases focus, creativity, and provides artistic satisfaction while creating a sense of wellbeing. It is Romi’s belief that Zentangle has given her creative work focus and direction. She has been practicing gentle yoga for nearly 20 years and learned about Zentangle from her yoga teacher.  The fusion of yoga and Zentangle was a natural progression and life changing. While Romi’s methods are untraditional with the use of color, the journey and the destination are still the same: a deep sense of relaxation and gratitude for the creative process. Learning to use Zentangle as a meditative practice has brought balance and calm to her students and friends. She teaches many online class and developed an extensive YouTube video library for her online students. She has also created a line of Zentangle inspired tiles that are available for purchase on her website at Tangledyogi.com. She received her certification CZT18 and has been teaching ever since. It is her desire to guide her students to a place of well-being and inspiration.http://www.tangledyogi.com ,https://www.instagram.com/tangledyogi/

Laurel Storey CZT

Laurel (CZT® 25 and 42), originally from Victoria, BC, now lives, works, and creates in Windsor, ON. She stumbled across Zentangle® one serendipitous day and, after practicing the art form for several years on her own, traveled to Providence to train with Rick, Maria, and the rest of the Zentangle team. She began teaching the Zentangle Method in the summer of 2016, offering both public and privately-scheduled classes, and has since taught the method to hundreds of students in the Windsor-Essex community. In recent years she has also expanded her reach by offering online classes, which have attracted a worldwide audience of Zentangle enthusiasts. Laurel is motivated by the belief that everyone is an artist, and this inspires her to guide others in cultivating and exploring their own creativity. Jerryann Hamilton CZT

Jerryann believes everyone is an artist and getting in touch with the creative is essential to nuture one’s spirit. She also is a firm believer in play-based learning. For her, art has to be fun, enjoyable, and contribute to one’s sense of wellbeing. This has led her to an exploration of form and colour working with oils, watercolour, acrylic, carving, sculpture, stained glass, mixed media, book binding and Zentangle. A passionate learner, Jerryann has both studied art and taught in many forms and with all ages including workshops and classes across Canada and the US. A CZT 12, Jerryann finds that Zentangle opens the door for people who have been hesitant to produce their own artistic expressions and has its own unique healing qualities. Ontario born, she has lived by the ocean in British Columbia for the past 30 years, and just recently moved back to rural Ontario. She loves that Zentangle has given her rich friendships wherever she is.

Beth Adams CZT

Beth is a fun loving artist and a lifelong learner. Her friends would say she has a giving and sharing spirit and always wears a smile. She spent her teaching career first as a secondary school Family Studies teacher then as a Librarian. In retirement Beth found Zentangle and  became a CZT 20. In addition to her Zentangle activities, Beth also does Calligraphy, Chinese Brush Painting, Book Binding and Jewelry Making. Her greatest joy is helping others whenever she can.

Tina Coutts CZT

I discovered Zentangle in 2013 when a photo popped up on FB that intrigued me.  With a long history of doodling to survive work meetings, this seemed like a good idea.  I found Brenda, and started taking regular classes.  In 2016 when I retired, CZT training was my retirement gift to myself.  Life has taken its own road, and today I regularly tangle, teach when asked, but for the most part bring Zentangle and all the other paper arts I have dabbled in over the years to book making.  The lessons of Zentangle stay with me.  One stroke at a time.  There are no mistakes, only creative opportunities.  Believe in yourself.

Mona Corby CZT

Mona Corby CZT 20 has been a tangler since 2010, was certified in 2015 and loves creating art in many mediums. She has been a working artist in watercolours, soft pastels, pen, ink and graphite, stained glass, medieval illumination and precious metal chain maille jewellery. Covid years slowed down the working aspect of her art creation, and she`s now more of a dabbler. Mona lives in rural Ontario with her husband Don and cats, just down the road from the village of Carlisle. Don is a custom picture framer (very convenient) and nature photographer. Her art studies have been fairly constant at several southern Ontario art schools and private workshops for the past 24 years. She is an art workshop addict. For her, making art is about the process, experimental, trial and error, trying to get past that fear of the blank page she tries to follow the “its only paper“ philosophy. For Autumn in St Jacobs, Mona is looking forward to teaching you her class which will include sharing some examples, short demonstrations, and a lot of playtime. There will be a handout with other ideas and different directions to go in creating when you get home. She is looking forward to meeting you, or seeing you again.

Brenda Shaver CZT & Retreat Host

Brenda is an entrepreneur, educator, and the founder and organizer of TangleOn Retreats. She has spent her entire life involved in the arts and crafts industry as an entrepreneur and teacher. However, it wasn’t until she found Zentangle® in 2012 and became a CZT 8 that she knew this amazing art form was special and a natural progression in her creative career. As the owner of Half Moon Boutique & Tangle Art Studio in Elora, Ontario, Brenda is deeply passionate about bringing people together to share the magic of the Zentangle Method through engaging workshops for students of every age and ability. Creativity and imagination are constant everyday necessities for Brenda, who finds endless inspiration in nature, art, and time spent with her family and grandchildren.
