Arts and crafts have always been a major part of my life. Having been blessed growing up on a dairy farm in rural Ontario with parents who made everything by hand, creativity and imagination were a constant everyday fact. From designing and sewing doll clothes at the age of 5 to painting and making home décor crafts for my little playhouse, my life path was set. 4-H was a major influence with its motto “Learn to do by Doing” and its foundation of Head, Heart, Hands, and Health. I further indulged my creativity in college studying Interior Design and textiles after which I started a small business designing, producing and marketing items at national shows as well as teaching Continuing Education Arts and Craft classes at local colleges. A second career as manager of a craft company furthered my career path and my love of traveling to exotic places.
I found Zentangle® in January 2012 and knew within a few days that this was something very special and a natural progression to my already innovative career. Not only was it helping me mentally, physically and emotionally, I could combine my creative talents and love of teaching. A month later, I became a Certified Zentangle Teacher, trained by Maria Thomas and Rick Roberts, the founders of this amazing art form.
My friends and family tell me my whole face lights up when I talk about Zentangle. It has become my passion and my inspiration. I am a personal testament that the Zentangle Method works. I love being a Zentangle artist and part of the Zentangle community.
